1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to:

• Organizers — competition directors and staff who sign up for DancePay and connect their Stripe account.
• Competitors & ticket buyers — individuals who pay for entries or tickets through a DancePay-powered checkout.
• Visitors — anyone who browses dancepay.ca.

2. Information we collect

From organizers:

• Name and email address (for account creation and communication)
• Competition data imported from CompMngr (event names, competitor lists, entry categories)
• Stripe account connection metadata (we receive your Stripe account ID, not your bank details)
• Support communications you send us

From competitors and ticket buyers:

• Name and email address (for receipt delivery)
• Payment status and transaction identifiers (provided by Stripe after payment)

We do not collect or store:

• Credit or debit card numbers
• Bank account details
• Any sensitive financial data — this is handled entirely by Stripe

Automatically collected:

• IP addresses and browser user-agent strings (for security and abuse prevention)
• Standard web server logs

3. How we use your information

• To operate and provide the DancePay service
• To process and track payments on behalf of organizers (via Stripe)
• To send payment receipts and confirmation emails to competitors
• To respond to support enquiries
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Payment processing by Stripe

All payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc. through the Stripe Connect platform. When a competitor pays through DancePay, their card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and are never transmitted to or stored by DancePay.

Stripe's own privacy policy governs the data they collect and process. You can review it at stripe.com/privacy.

5. Sharing of information

We share information only as follows:

• Stripe — to process payments and manage connected accounts.
• Competition organizers — payment status and competitor identifiers are shared with the organizer who created the event.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, and will notify you where lawfully permitted.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties.

6. Data storage and retention

Data is stored on secure servers in Canada or the United States. We retain organizer account data for the duration of the account relationship plus up to seven (7) years as required for tax and financial record-keeping purposes. Payment transaction records are retained as required by applicable law.

You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at hello@dancepay.ca. Note that certain records may be retained for legal compliance purposes even after a deletion request.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Access to stored data is restricted to authorized personnel. Payment data security is managed by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)

9. Cookies

DancePay's marketing website uses only essential cookies required for secure session management and form submission. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
